One of the most common questions I get asked for a growing pet sitting business is “how do I increase my revenue?” There are simple ways to go about doing this and there’s no need to over-complicate or overthink the process. Here are 5 easy ways to increase your revenue as a pet sitting business:
1) Get More Clients
One of the easiest ways to increase revenue is to get more clients. Start an online marketing campaign, hand out fliers, incentivize your current customers to spread the word to their family / friends, sponsor events with local apartment communities, etc. - be creative! Personally speaking, some of the best methods for me that have yielded the highest return have been online marketing campaigns using Google Ads, word of mouth and flyers.
2) Increase Transaction Value
Create add-on fees such as additional fees for extra pets, after hours fees, weekend fees, urgent request fees, etc.
3) Increase Pricing
Once you build a solid pet sitting business and have a great following of clients, don’t be afraid to increase the prices of your services. The right clients will stick with you and respect the increase given it’s within reason.
4) Add A New Service
Growing the services you offer opens up more opportunities for more revenue. Offer longer length visits at a higher price, add extended in-home pet sitting, charge the customer for additional Meet & Greets, etc.
5) Business To Business Relationships
Start a referral program with another business involved in the pet industry. You could be paid to refer clients to another pet sitting business (if you’re fully booked, they are outside your service area, etc.). On the flip side, you could get more customers referred to you by another business owner, which would increase your revenue as well.
